Pain relief for Tooth Sensitivity; One fine day, you stopped eating an apple and switched to a banana. You no longer had your favourite non-veg meal; instead, you settled with galouti kebab. Naans were no longer an option for you and rice filled your appetite. All this and more happened when you started developing tooth sensitivity and you want immediate pain relief. No doubt, tooth sensitivity it’s bothering and changes or rather forcefully changes your food habits and makes you kill your cravings.   1. Sensitivity relieving toothpaste: Special toothpaste contains a component that helps shield the exposed nerve endings from irritants.   2. Tooth cleansing: this is one of the common causes of tooth sensitivity that every one rules out. Many of us are in the habit of clenching our teeth with each other when we are sleeping. We don’t realize it initially; however, it silently keeps on damaging the teeth; later, when the enamel gets eroded, the problem of sensitivity knocks on the door only to keep on increasing as time passes. 

You will need your partner or family member’s help to understand if you are cleansing your teeth while sleeping. If you do, you need to address this problem by one of the following methods:

  • use a muscle relaxant.
  • use a nightguard made out of silicon.

     3. Avoid acidic foods: Food such as lemon water soda, chocolates, or high-sugar carbohydrates are known for attacking the true animal and increasing sensitivity. It would be best if you instead switched to fibrous foods and vegetables.

     4. Rinsing your mouth: make a habit of rendering your mouth every 2 to 3 hours with lukewarm water and a pinch of salt and honey. Honey is an anti-bacterial agent, and salt is known for reducing inflammation. 

5. Brushing your teeth: We often hurry to brush our teeth when we are sleepy at night, thinking that we can save some time—hard brushing when it does sideways severely damage our teeth and erodes the enamel. Always use a soft toothbrush and brush your teeth horizontally at an angle of 30 to 45°.

Suppose you are done with all the above remedies and still experiencing sensitivity. In that case, you should try that you take professional help and visit your dentist. The dentist would then take an x-ray to understand the causes of your tooth sensitivity: a deep cavity, a prevailing infection in your roots, or highly exposed nerves. As a part of the treatment process, your dentist may 

 

  1. Apply fluoride gel feelings to exposed teeth.
  2. Some sealants or
  3. Custom-made mouthguard to protect your teeth if you grind.
